Deliveries and supplies

Subscriber houses are brightly painted, with a tick sign and a blue arrow above their mailbox. Non-subscriber houses are grey, with a cross sign and tombstones on the lawn.

Papers travel in an arc and inherit some forward speed, so throw slightly before reaching the house. A mailbox delivery earns 250 points; a porch delivery earns 100 points.

  • Each subscriber can receive only one counted delivery each day. The first successful landing counts.
  • A successful delivery raises the mailbox flag or leaves a paper on the porch. A green tick replaces the blue arrow.
  • Start each morning with 10 papers. Your bag holds 20.
  • Curbside bundles provide 10 more papers, capped by bag capacity. Each bundle can be collected once per day.

Mischief and paper-hit reactions

Breaking a non-subscriber’s window earns 100 points. Knocking over a non-subscriber’s tombstone or yard ornament earns 50 points. Damaging subscriber property earns no points and causes cancellation that evening.

What happens when a paper hits an obstacle
ObstacleEffect
Rolling tireKnocked flat, awards 50 points, and stops being dangerous
DogStunned briefly; awards 50 points on its first hit
Trash binTips over for 50 points, but still blocks the way

Cars, skateboarders, pedestrians, fire hydrants, and traffic cones bounce papers back.

Road hazards and lives

Navigate parked cars, reversing cars, oncoming traffic, skateboarders, pedestrians, rolling tires, trash bins, fire hydrants, traffic cones, and chasing dogs.

Reversing cars, tires about to roll, and dogs about to chase show a yellow warning first. On-screen messages also call out oncoming cars, tires, and dogs.

A collision costs one life. The rider respawns just behind the crash with brief invulnerability. There are three lives for the entire week. Losing the last life ends the game immediately.

Each day brings more obstacles, faster traffic, and wobblier skateboarders.

Daily bonus training

  • Training gives you unlimited papers. Targets on both sides are worth 100 points each; use both throw directions.
  • Approach ramps head-on with enough speed to clear the wall or ditch. Clean landings earn 150 points.
  • Avoid holes and walls. A crash ends training without costing a life. You keep the training points you earned.

The evening tally

  • Earn 100 bonus points per subscriber delivered to. A perfect route doubles that delivery bonus.
  • A perfect route means every subscriber received a paper and no subscriber property was damaged.
  • Every missed or damaged subscriber cancels. A perfect route adds one new subscriber, up to ten total.
  • The summary shows retained and lost subscribers, cancellation reasons, new customers, and the score breakdown.

Sunday and ending the week

Sunday papers are thicker and travel less far in both the route and training. Ride closer to houses.

Complete Sunday with at least one subscriber to win. Earn 1,000 bonus points for each remaining life, subject to the selected difficulty multiplier.

The game ends early when all lives are lost or the final subscriber cancels.

Scores and leaderboards

Finished games are saved on your device as personal records, including offline. You can optionally submit a score under a nickname to a separate online leaderboard for each difficulty.

Think of the leaderboard as friendly competition: scores are reported by the browser and checked for consistency, but the server cannot prove the game was played.

Accessibility and settings

  • Separate music and sound-effect volumes, plus mute.
  • On-screen messages accompany every sound.
  • Reduced-motion mode, optional camera shake, and graphics quality settings.
  • Fully keyboard-operable menus and remappable keyboard controls.
  • Symbols, sign shapes, and decorations supplement color cues.

A little local knowledge

Make the next run your best.

  • The sidewalk balances delivery distance and avoiding traffic.
  • Mailboxes are worth two and a half porch deliveries.
  • Watch the house-icon strip for pending deliveries.
  • Collect bundles before running low.
  • Build speed before training ramps.
  • Ride closer to houses on Sunday.

A neighborhood built in code.

PaperRun’s in-game houses, rider, music, and sound effects are generated in code. An oblique, slanted top-down view shows the house fronts and the road ahead.

The simulation runs at a fixed 60 updates per second, independent of display refresh rate. Rendered frame rates depend on the device. This product page uses the supplied PaperRun logo, icon, and screenshots.
